EIA: Gas in Storage -237 Bcf to 1.686 Tcf

The EIA reported this morning that working gas in storage was down 237 Bcf last week to 1.686 Tcf.  The withdrawal was 56% larger than last year (-152 Bcf) and 46% greater than the five year average (-162 Bcf).  The current storage level is now 33.9% below last year (2.549 Tcf) and 27.2% below the five year average (2.317 Tcf).  Compared to last year, the storage level is 863 Bcf lower.

As shown below, the deviation from the five year average continues to sink:

Temperatures in the Lower 48 last week averaged 30.3 degrees, which was 3.9 degrees cooler than last week and 4.3 degrees cooler than last year.
