Shreveport Gets First Public CNG Station

The first public compressed natural gas filling station in Shreveport opened yesterday at a Time-It Lube station. The facility was funded jointly by Time-It and Chesapeake Energy, and it joins two other CNG stations across the Red River in Bossier City.

It took a while but it is nice to see public CNG infrastructure blossoming, albeit slowly, in the heart of natural gas country. This slow progress is likely what we will continue to see in current years.  While gas fans would like to see things move a lot faster, we should be heartened by the tale of the tortoise and the hare.
