Natural Gas in Copenhagen

I thought it was interesting to see an announcement that there will be a program at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen regarding the use of natural gas in mitigating climate change by replacing coal and serving as a backup to renewable energy sources.  I don't know if this event, "Natural Gas, Renewables and Efficiency: Pathways to a Low-Carbon Economy," is an officially sanctioned event, but it is a joint effort of the U.N. Foundation, the Worldwatch Institute and American Clean Skies Foundation.

Given that the Copenhagen conference is a U.N. event, the U.N. Foundation sponsorship of the gas event might mean that it has some credibility.  In any case, it's good to see gas at least sitting near the table if not at it.
